Kelly + Merrill, Front & Palmer,Philadelphia Same Sex Wedding, Philadelphia Wedding Planner – Angela MALICKI events

January 17, 2018

Angela Malicki, owner of Philadelphia Event Planning based company, Angela MALICKI events, plans and executes Philadelphia same-sex wedding at Front & Palmer in Fishtown.

Wedding season has officially begun for us. We had the pleasure of planning and executing Kelly and Merrill’s Philadelphia same-sex wedding at Front & Palmer in the ultra-trendy Fishtown area. This fun-loving Brookyn, New York couple showed Philly how its done. Kelly and Merrill have a cool style that translated in their choice of music and chic attire. Angela MALICKI events was thrilled and honored to have planned this beautiful wedding.

We started out at the Logan Hotel where our brides were getting ready together Kelly wore a white dupioni silk dress, blush pink stacked heels and vintage Rolex. Merrill, in her sequined long gown looked like a movie star from the Great Gatsby, both added an edge completing the look with leather moto jackets. The brides carried King Protea bouquets designed by Petals Lane Philadelphia. This floral them was carried throughout the reception.

The bridal party consisted of close friends and family. The bridemaids wore long black dresses in different styles. Tara Beth Robertson, owner of Tara Beth Photography, captured all moments and guided the party and brides during photos at Logan Circle and throughout the city. Her work is unobtrusive and creative, we truly enjoyed working aside her.

Several years ago we had coordinated The Knot Party at Front & Palmer, it was great working there again. The loft space of this old pickle factory looked spectacular. The candle lined aisle heading towards the handmade Chuppah (by Merrill’s brother)  in front of a canopy of market lights created an intimate tone for the ceremony.

Both brides were escorted by their parents and close friend and state judge married them in 12 minutes. The couple smashed a glass recognizing Merrill’s Jewish culture.

The guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the lounge as the reception space was transforming. Petals Lane created 3 different centerpieces with a mix of long and round tables. The head table was placed under a row of Edison Light Bulbs donning bud vases with flowers used throughout the room.

Feast your Eyes, the exclusive caterer at Front & Palmer impressed guests with their cuisine. Mini grilled cheeses and tomato soup shooters were my favorite. Kelly and Merrill also has 2 signature drinks for guests to enjoy along with staple beverages.

January 5, 2018

Tara and Sam’s Philadelphia Classic Jewish Wedding, hosted at iconic Ballroom in  the Ben Franklin Hotel, wedding coordinated by Angela MALICKI Events, Philadelphia based Wedding Planner.

Our couple hosted their wedding at Ballroom at the Ben, located in the heart of Philadelphia at the Ben Franklin Hotel. This ballroom was notably featured in the Academy Award-nominated Silver Linings Playbook. We coordinated a wedding here several years ago and it was nice coming back.

Eric and Terra accompanied Tara and the bridesmaids to meet Sam at the 8th Century Garden for their first look. As Sam turned to see Tara the garden filled with love and happiness that carried on into the night. Photographer, Faith West was able to capture all of the magic of the day.

When we arrived back at The Ben, florist, Carl Alan Floral Design had already begun filling the ballroom with elegant flower arrangements. The chuppah, a traditional canopy the couple stands under in Jewish weddings was draped decadently in flowers completed with a crystal chandelier. It was a dream standing under!

Rabbi Howard Cove held the signing of the Ketubah, a binding contract signed by the closest friends and family members of the bride and groom. Their ketubah was very creative and colorful, later it was displayed at the reception.

The ceremony began shortly after the Ketubah was signed. Tara walked down the aisle with her mother June on one arm and father Mark in the other. After a kiss, the couple was introduced as the new Mr. and Mrs. Rawes.

Carly + Jeremy- The Westin Hotel, Philadelphia- Angela MALICKI events, Philadelphia Wedding Planner

August 3, 2017

Philadelphia Wedding Planner, Angela MALICKI events, coordinates spectacular Jewish wedding at The Westin Hotel in Philadelphia for Trendy New York Couple.

Philadelphia Wedding Planner Angela Malicki along with Eric and myself arrive at The Westin Hotel in Philadelphia where Carly and Jeremy began their day . Meeting the couple the night before at their rehearsal helped seal the bond created between planner and couple. Carly and Jeremy were the first couple I had the pleasure to work with. Here are a few of the exciting details behind the day-of scene from my point of view.

As I arrived to the bridal suite, the bridesmaids were finishing up their hair and make-up by the amazing Maria Yancer and Heather. I was assigned my first task of the day: steaming. Making sure the bride and bridesmaids have whatever they needed was imperative, (especially with five pregnant bridesmaids) so I did my best to complete each new task with the highest quality attention.

Shortly after, Ron Soliman, the incredibly talented photographer, and videographer Tim Sudall of Allure Films arrived while Carly was getting the finishing touches. Mom Andi helped Carly into her stunning Monique Lhuilier lace gown and shared a private moment alone.

The bridesmaids wore long pink Amsale dresses in a variety of styles to accommodate while the groomsmen wore simple black tuxedos.

It was time to take Carly down to meet Jeremy for their first look at John F. Collins Park. With a bouquet in one hand and the dresses train in the other, Carly was ready to see Jeremy for the first time.

The ceremony took place at the Westin Grand Ballroom. After the bridal party was down the aisle, Carly walked down the aisle to be given away by her mother and father to the song “Here Comes the Sun” by The Beatles.

Guests enjoyed a cocktail hour after the ceremony, when the ballroom was being transformed into a reception area.

Florist, Vito Russo of Carl Alan Designs, created elegant arrangements throughout the ballroom as well as gorgeous centerpieces for the dining tables.

Guests entered back into the ballroom and the bridal party was reintroduced. Carly and Jeremy then entered to the song “Shut up and Dance,” which guests got up on their feet and danced and cheered for the new couple.

Then came the best part, the Hora. Carly and Jeremy were lifted up by guests and held together a handkerchief to hold onto to signify their bond and the fact that nothing can tear them apart.

The reception continued with speeches from the parents of the bride as well as parents of the groom. Guests were served a 3 course meal enjoying conversation with friends and family.

The new couple then thanked their guests and danced until the night ended. What a great first wedding to experience with such a lovely, easy-going, and charming couple.

Congratulations to the Edelman’s and have fun on your honeymoon in Italy!

Angela Malicki, Philadelphia Wedding Planner, kicks off summer with her must-have looks for June. We didn’t want to forget about dad with Father’s Day coming up , Anthropologie has on-line this gorgeous Burnt Orange Leather Chair , perfect for office or any living space (they also come in a variety of colors),maybe two chairs might be better than one. Dad’s like comfort and styles, these Vintage Inspired Onituska Tiger sneakers in  Orange and Navy are perfect for walking downtown or hanging with the guys.

Our invitation inspiration:
Last May we had the pleasure of designing this custom Navy and Orange Birds of Paradise invitation for a very special couple with Wish Upon a Wedding. Happy March! Philadelphia Stationery Designer, Angela Malicki, owner of Titus Print and Angela MALICKI events, shares her March trends for Spring. I love this months Get the Look and the color story around our custom invitation designed for Marykate and Dan by Titus Print. Marykate and Dan’s wedding was colorful and summer-like, their colors were turquoise with hints of gray and gold. The handmade paper used for the invitation inspired Ciao Bella Cakes to mimic the pattern and incorporate the colors used. My favorite item on this board are the Jimmy Choo shoes (Marykate wore these exact ones on wedding day) and the Hermes enamel cuff.

Brows on Point, say that again… Professional Spotlight- Still Beauty Brow Lounge – Philadelphia Wedding and Event Planner – Angela MALICKI events

Bold brows are back and better than ever. During the 80’s we envied Brooke Shield’s brows and wondered “Do I have to make a deal with the devil to have brows like hers?” Fast forward and decades later we left with skinny brows due to over plucking, age and past trend. Unfortunately we are not brow experts and drawing the Lucille Ball stunned brow is not cute. Our prayers have been answered – Latoya Still, owner of Still Beauty Brow Lounge is your answer. Still Beauty Brow Lounge also offers sexy lash extensions to compliment your polished brows. Philadelphia Wedding Planner Angela Malicki events

“Located in the heart of Wayne. Our mantra is to elegantly transform the face without altering the natural beauty. We are waxing enthusiast, we set the bar high and set ourselves apart because we are truly passionate about creating a unique experience on an individual level. Its our goal to make sure that every woman and man walk out feeling confident.”

What are lash extensions?
Eyelash Extensions Procedure Semi-Permanent Eyelash Extensions are single strands of synthetic lashes that are applied on to your own natural lashes. Each synthetic strand is tapered at the tip with a thick base and curled to replicate a natural lash. Lash Stylists meticulously and delicately attach one lash extension to one natural lash at a time for a total of 60 to 120 lash extensions per eye.
Are they safe for people who wear corrective lenses?
Yes they can but the client would want to wear their glasses for about 24/48hrs.
Who are lash extensions for?
Anyone who does not have allergies to glues or have medical problems with their eyes such as alopecia, chemotherapy, etc.

Clients of Still Beauty Brow Lounge – photo by Still Beauty Brow Lounge

Angela raves that you’re the brow whisperer, how soon should a bride start shaping her brows before the big day?
6/8 months with expectations of realistic growth pattern. If there is a lot of damage it will take time. Brow Serums and Jamaican castor oil help a lot with growth.
What is the lash maintenance like?
Lash extensions should be touched up every 2-4wks. Anything longer would result in a full set cost.
Can you wear make up including mascara?
Yes you can wear makeup with proper care and follow-up aftercare. I would not recommend mascara because it’s hard to remove and the whole point of lashes is to replace mascara. You would also want to wear waterproof eyeliner.
Do they look natural?
How long do they last for?
They last indefinitely with lash refills. Extensions shed with natural lashes and proper care.
What other services does Still Beauty Brow Lounge offer?
We offer Bridal Makeup, Glam Makeup application and Makeup Lessons, Full Face and Body Waxing, Brow and Lash Tinting, and Xtreme Lash Extensions
