Tara and Sam’s Philadelphia Classic Jewish Wedding, hosted at iconic Ballroom in the Ben Franklin Hotel, wedding coordinated by Angela MALICKI Events, Philadelphia based Wedding Planner.
Our couple hosted their wedding at Ballroom at the Ben, located in the heart of Philadelphia at the Ben Franklin Hotel. This ballroom was notably featured in the Academy Award-nominated Silver Linings Playbook. We coordinated a wedding here several years ago and it was nice coming back.
Our team arrived just as the bridesmaids were finishing up their hair by Erin Konzelman and makeup by Jen Brown.
Eric, who has been with Angela MALICKI events since the beginning, assists couple during the prep process to ensure no malfunctions or anything is forgotten, he is your go-to-guy.
Sam looked dapper in a tailored fit black tuxedo, his groomsmen matched with a difference of their boutonniere
The girls carried smaller versions of Tara’s bouquet.

Tara’s bouquet designed by Vito Russo of Carl Alan Designs, incorporated a variety of peonies and roses that complimented the look, the bouquet was completed with pearl covered pins and satin ribbon.
Eric and Terra accompanied Tara and the bridesmaids to meet Sam at the 8th Century Garden for their first look. As Sam turned to see Tara the garden filled with love and happiness that carried on into the night. Photographer, Faith West was able to capture all of the magic of the day.
Eric and Terra along with the photographers assisted the couple for their photos on Broad Street, the iconic Philadelphia street where you can see City Hall and other landmarks, this makes for a beautiful backdrop for pictures.
When we arrived back at The Ben, florist, Carl Alan Floral Design had already begun filling the ballroom with elegant flower arrangements. The chuppah, a traditional canopy the couple stands under in Jewish weddings was draped decadently in flowers completed with a crystal chandelier. It was a dream standing under!
Rabbi Howard Cove held the signing of the Ketubah, a binding contract signed by the closest friends and family members of the bride and groom. Their ketubah was very creative and colorful, later it was displayed at the reception.
The ceremony began shortly after the Ketubah was signed. Tara walked down the aisle with her mother June on one arm and father Mark in the other. After a kiss, the couple was introduced as the new Mr. and Mrs. Rawes.
MAZEL TOV! The breaking of the glass symbolizes that joy must always be tempered.
The couple walked down to “This will be everlasting Love” by Natalie Cole
The centerpieces were a mix of high and low arrangements including crystal and candles, it was pure elegance!
Mr. and Mrs. Rawes entered the ballroom to “500 Miles” by Sleeping at Last. After, guests began to gather in a circle and the extraordinarily talented LA Starz started turning up the music to indicate it was time for the Hora. Guests were smiling and the bride and groom were filled with joy as their friends and family hoisted them into the air.
Guests enjoyed their first course, followed by parents dances to “The Way You Look Tonight” by Frank Sinatra.

The couple looked truly happy the entire day and we here at Angela MALICKI Events took great pleasure in assisting them with their day-of needs. Enjoy your new life as Mr. and Mrs. Rawes, hope you enjoy your amazing honeymoon in Italy and the Greek Island!
